Construction update and reopening plan3/23/2021 If all goes as planned, the library building will reopen for public access around June 1.
If you’ve used the library curbside service recently, you’ve seen that the front of the building is under construction. We cannot open the doors again until there are doors to open. That construction — a new drive-up service window and entryway — is expected to wrap up at the end of May. We’ll need a few days to move operations into the new space, and then we expect to be able to serve you inside the building once again. While we are still working out many details, here’s a general idea of what cardholders can expect:
This plan hinges on local COVID-19 measures continuing to move in the right direction. We are cautiously optimistic that case numbers and prevalence measures will continue to come down and the number of people who have been vaccinated will continue to rise. If the situation changes, we may need to pause. Thank you for continuing to do your part to help bring this to an end. It has been wonderful to see your (masked) faces as you’ve used the curbside service, and we are extraordinarily grateful for all the notes of support you have sent over these months. We greatly appreciate your patience, grace, and understanding as we work to welcome everyone back into the library building.
