ComEd Project Affects Parking and Entry

UPDATE: The front driveway is open for now, but paving is incomplete. Safety posts mark a gap in the pavement. Visitors should use caution when entering or exiting the parking lot. 

ComEd began the final phase of a utility construction project on Friday, September 11, with work expected to conclude by Saturday, September 19. 

During this time, their project will affect library visitors:

• Entrance is ENTER ONLY: Visitors may enter the parking lot using the main entrance as normal, but all exiting traffic must use an alternative route. Follow signs to the back of the parking lot through the fire lane to exit onto Indian Creek Road.​

• Sidewalk Closed: As part of the project, the sidewalk along Olde Half Day Road directly in front of the library (between Indian Creek Road and Half Day Road) is also closed. A pedestrian detour route is posted.

Visitors are advised to exercise extreme caution when entering or exiting the library campus and surrounding area. Please allow extra time for your visit, use extra care driving through the narrowed entrance, and consider visiting during off-peak hours to avoid potential traffic delays.

This work is expected to complete ComEd’s conduit and utility duct project, which began earlier this year.
