Teachers and their students are welcome to visit the library as a group. To schedule a tour of the library, please call the Youth Services Desk at 847.634.3650.
Or We'll Visit You...
Youth Services staff visit students in kindergarten through eighth grade during the school year, highlighting good books, teaching library skills, and promoting the Summer Reading Club and other summer programs. We also visit many local preschools. At the beginning of each school year we will contact you to schedule a visit.

School Loans
Elementary school teachers who work at schools within the Vernon Area Public Library District boundary may request a six-week loan of books and other items to support your curriculum. The Library van delivers and picks up loans at the elementary schools.
Preschool teachers who work at schools within the library's boundary may also request a school loan. You can pick up your loans at the Youth Services Desk.

Parent/Teacher Collection
Our Parent/Teacher collection contains resources for parents and educators of children from birth through grade eight. The collection focuses on educating children both at home and in the classroom.

Book Club in a Bag
Looking to start a book discussion group? Each "Book Club in a Bag" includes ten copies of a popular book, author information, discussion questions, and an activity related to the book.. Each tote may be checked out for 8 weeks. Here are the books that are available, along with a summary of each book.
