The 2013 Youth Media Award winners have been announced.

The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate won the John Newbery Medal.

This is Not My Hat by Jon Klassen won the Randolph Caldecott Medal.

Located in the Youth Services Department near the computer alcove are two new AfterSchool Edge AWE computer stations.  These computers are pre-loaded with fun, educational games suitable for kids in elementary school. Among the 48 games are Diego's Safari Adventure, Kid Pix 3D, Oregon Trail, Sammy's Science House, World of Goo and many more. These computers join our two already popular Early Literacy Station AWE computers that are loaded with fun preschool-level games.  
A Vernon Area Library card is not required to use these computers.

When it comes to downloading e-books, our patrons have the Advantage. Look for titles marked with the Advantage symbol for items exclusively for our patrons with shortened hold times. New Advantage titles added this month include:
