The Vernon Area Public Library is counted among America's Star Libraries for 2011, Library Journal announced this week. Star Library status was awarded to just 18 public libraries in Illinois and 262 nationwide. This is the second year in a row the library has received this distinction. The rating is based on annual circulation, program attendance and public Internet access. We are honored to receive this national recognition for our service to our patrons.
