We work with a social enterprise called Better World Books to collect and process book donations. They provide all the labor and we receive a share of any funds raised. Better World maintains the donation drop box, collects and sorts the donated books, and dispatches them for donation, resale, or recycling. A portion of the sales proceeds is sent to the library. Another portion helps to fund four major nonprofit literacy programs, including The National Center for Families Learning, Room to Read, Books for Africa, and Worldfund. The Vernon Area Public Library District welcomes and encourages monetary gifts, bequests, and gifts of property or materials from individuals, groups, foundations, or corporations. Detailed information can be found in the library's Gift Policy. Donors are encouraged to include a Donor Form with their donation so that appropriate acknowledgement can be given.
