Borrowing Materials

Reserving Materials

If an item you desire is checked out, you may place a hold/reserve on the item. You will be notified by telephone or e-mail when your item is ready for you to pick up. All reserves must be picked up within four days of notification. Please note that there are no reserves on Popular Picks.

Placing a reserve may be done in one of three ways:

  1. In Person
    Reserves on Library materials may be requested in-person at the Adult, Youth Services, or Patron Services Desk. Staff members will be happy to place an item on reserve for you. Your library card will be required to reserve an item.

  2. By Phone (Your library card is required.)
    Library patrons who have questions or want to place a reserve over the phone may call the library at 847 634-3650.

  3. Through the Catalog (Your library card is required.)
    Library patrons can place a reserve via the library's computer catalogs located throughout the library by clicking on the My Account tab:
