Borrowing Materials

Renewing Materials

Renewals on most items are available if there are no holds/reserves pending. Please be aware that some library items have restrictions and are not eligible for renewal. These include DVDs, Videos, Popular Picks and Encyclopedias.

Renewing items can be done in one of three ways:

  1. In Person
    Bring your library card or each item to be renewed into the library and ask a staff member at the Patron Services Desk to renew it. The item will be scanned by the computer and, if it is not on hold/reserve, the item will be renewed.

  2. By Phone
    Library patrons who have questions about renewing materials or would like to renew an item over the phone can do so by calling the library at 847 634-3650 and asking for the Patron Services Desk. Patron Services staff will need your library card number or the barcode of each item you would like to renew.

  3. Through the Catalog (Your library card is required.)
    Library patrons can renew library materials on their own via the library's computer catalogs located throughout the library by clicking on the My Account tab:
